Then he spends the second half of the book outlining how to make sure these steps have a lasting effect on the lives of OTHERS while at the same time building OUR faith and trust in God.This book is a blessing to anyone no matter where you are in your life.
I highly recommend this book. Pastor Craig once again writes from his heart. I underlined a lot in my book. It gave me a lot to think about. Here are just a few.You can' change your past, but God can help you rewrite your story and change your future.We're not changed by the promises we make to God; we're changed by believing the promises God makes to us.Take the first step of faith. I read this book when I was at the fork in the road and felt like neither decision was a great one. It encouraged me and helped me realize that God has my back no matter what I choose but He also provides guidance if we are open to it. I recommend this book to all but especially those who sometimes feel lost in this life wondering if the next decision they are making is aligned with God's direction or who sometimes struggle to hear God's voice at pivot points.
There is a thoughtfulness to this book that took me by surprise. What I mean is this: every word seemed to be talking to me, encouraging me, challenging me, convicting me. It has a level of deep concern that the reader personally understand that God has a call for their life. So deep, in fact you feel as though Craig Groeschel urgently wants you to discover where God wants to take you next. I don't know how else to describe it.At the beginning of the book he says, "...a great life is built on small disciplines and wise decisions." If you are struggling and wondering what's next reading this book would be a perfect wise decision to begin with.Get this book and read it, underline and chew on the content. You will be glad you did! I am!
The start was exciting. The middle was still engaging, but after the halfway mark I felt the direction wasn't so clear, though the content was still valuable. The book closes with very good encouragement. This book is a good overview of how to live out the faith, but it did not teach me anything new. Sometimes all we need are reminders and this is what the book does very well.
LOVED this book! Each chapter offers practical ways to implement biblical wisdom into your life! Pastor Craig's writing style and use of humor and personal stories kept me fully engaged! I didn't want to put the book down! I especially loved the "flossing" anecdote. Not only did I purchase my own copy, but I also purchased two copies for my counseling practice to loan out to clients and four copies to give as gifts! This book can be LIFE CHANGING!!
This was the first book I have read from Craig Groeschel and I absolutely loved it. Craig emphasizes that every decision you make in your life whether big or small will have an impact on the story you will tell of your life. This is why it is so important to seek God's direction in every decision you make. I loved how Craig used examples from his own life to drive his point home. A must read for anyone who needs help with direction and trusting God! It definitely blessed me!
